We are seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join our small, design-focused firm. The designer will work closely with the Principal to create and plan functional, unique, timeless spaces that meet our clients’ wants and needs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit team that is passionate about the designs we create and the people we create for.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in high-end residential interior design
Knowledge and experience in luxury renovation and residential new construction
Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit, or other design software
Studio Designer preferred or experience with other design management software
Familiarity with G-Suite, Asana, Slack, or ability to learn quickly
Exceptional creative and technical designer
Understands the importance of organization, process, and time management
Excellent verbal and written communication with strong presentation skills
Strong customer service skills
Knowledge of high-end sources for furniture, fixtures, finishes, and materials
Understanding and experience with art, antiques, and historical periods
Creative with an entrepreneurial spirit and stays up to date with industry trends
Enthusiastic self-starter who works well in a collaborative environment
Self-confident with an optimistic and positive attitude and demeanor
Ability to work onsite and travel to client projects

About the Role
The Interior Designer will work directly with Principal Designer throughout the design process on various-sized projects. They will collaborate with clients to determine their interior design needs and preferences. They must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish with minimal oversight and compose design agreements, presentations, proposals, invoices, and purchase orders.
The designer must be able to interpret and produce technical drawings with explicit attention to detail,
space plan and architecturally detail an entire project interior; ceilings, mouldings, millwork, stone and tile layouts, and plumbing layouts per DHS specifications.
They will be expected to select and specify high-end residential custom furniture, fabrics, finishes, and decorative items, create detailed plans, select materials, and oversee the implementation of design projects. They must engage with clients frequently as well as manage third-party and vendor communication while keeping the rest of the DHS staff up to date.
The designer will manage design meeting minutes, project schedules, interior budgets, and all client deliverables, and attend job site visits to oversee construction progress. They must have a willingness to adapt to creative or technical changes throughout the project as needed. Lastly, they will manage and direct the installation of projects alongside the Creative Coordinator
